Special Education:
Special education is also known as Special-Needs Education, Aided Education, Alternative Provision, Exceptional Student Education. This involves individual education program (IEP) and systematically monitored arrangement of teaching procedures, adapted equipment and materials, and accessible settings. These interventions are designed to help individuals with special needs achieve a higher level of personal self-sufficiency and success in school and in their community, which may not be available if the student were only given access to a typical classroom education.

Speech therapy helps children with special needs to improve their communication and language skills. We have designed completely unique therapies to improve early language skills, ability to use voice, fluency and expressing clearly.
Occupational Therapy:
The primary goal of occupational therapy is to help and develop special needs children to participate in the activities of everyday life, which include day-to-day tasks such as self-care, work, or leisure. Occupational therapy specializes in teaching, educating, and supporting participation in any activity that is part of daily social life. Occupational therapy takes a “whole-person approach” to both mental and physical health, and well-being of a special needs child to enhance function and enable them to achieve their full potential.
We at Nischantha Special Schools achieve this through practical support to increase independence by empowering the child to overcome barriers preventing them from doing the activities that are interested to them and focusing on activities of daily living.
Sensory Integration Therapy:
Sensory Integration means how the nervous system integrates sensory input into action. Sensory integration therapy (SIT) is mainly performed by occupational therapists to help special needs children improve their processing and integration of sensory inputs to gain suitable adaptive response to everyday stimuli.
We at Nischantha Special Schools create individually tailored strategies and activities that can improve how individual student process and respond to sensory information, ultimately enhancing their daily life functioning, social interactions, and academic performance.
